Flashback Friday...last Halloween

I'm up for any sort of occasion where there might be treats involved so I must admit that the smell of pumpkin around Halloween makes me happy.  Just as long as I don't have to wear a costume.  You hear that mom?!?  Anyway, last year, dad got into fancy pumpkin carvings.

Oct 30, 2010 at Gammy and Gampy's house
He found a template on-line and then sketched it out by hand on the pumpkin to carve out.  I enjoyed supervising.  Oh, the intoxicating smell!  Mom roasts the seeds and keeps them all to herself.  I know, the nerve!  But my dad snuck me a small scrap of pumpkin flesh to try and it was yummy!  It's hard to say if fresh or canned is better.  Looks like I should do some more taste testing.  Here's the finished product.

2010 Halloween pumpkin
I can not wait for everyone to check out this year's masterpiece.  Dad took it up a notch.  It's so Spook-pug-ular!  Stay tuned on Monday...

Enjoy the weekend and make sure that your peeps stock up on the dog-friendly treats or tell them to be prepared for some tricks!

Love,
Payton

OOoh, we are on pins and needles over here to see this year's pumpkin carving. Mom was too lazy to do ours. BUTT, we are going to Pugfest in Atlanta, so I guess she is off the hook. Good luck to you P. Hopefully your mom won't suprise you with a costume.

I keep telling my 'rents that we NEED to get a pumpkin. I even offered to help them clean out the insides myself (I LOVE to eat canned pumpkin - but I've never had FRESH!). Your Dad is quite the carver, P. Looking forward to seeing the photos of the 2011 model on Monday. Have a great no-tricks-only-treats weekend!

Sid.

What an awesome pumpkin! I can't wait to see this year's pug pumpkin - so cool!

Are you sure you don't want to wear a costume this year? A little birdy told me that you have the cutest costume. You will get lots of pets from all the trick-or-treaters if you wear it. Trust me.

I think it's amazing what some people can do with pumpkins. I can't even manage to get the plain ole' regular face right. LOL

Payton, we have 14" inches of snow here. There are branches down all over town. One block over there is no power. Memere and pepere have no power and mom will be mounting a rescue mission later today.

Thanks for thinking about us.

Love the flash back Friday photos your Daddy is really good at carving Halloween pumpkins, it looks amazing! I'm glad to see everyone gets in to the Halloween spirit! I went trick or treating last year with My Mum and Aunty Ashley it was fun but nobody had any dog treats but don't worry I gave them a nasty little trick on their lawn! Well before Mum pooped scooped it that is but I though it was funny! Love and pHUGS Frank x x x x
