Deep Thoughts...fall leaves

One of my absolute favorite things about fall is all of the leaves.  When I was a puppy I loved to chase them as the wind blew them across my path.  Now, I like to eat them.  But I'm very picky.  Only certain kinds will do, and they have to be very crispy!  I have a particular fondness for River Birch.  Yeah, I guess they are like potato chips (or so I'm told)...you can't eat just one!  And like potato chips, mom says the leaves are off limits.  Sheesh!  Although I must say that it's pretty funny when she or Gammy chase me down in the back yard when I have one in my mouth.  Most of the time I'm too quick for them!  But that usually means that outside time is over, and I'm carried back inside.  I think she should be happy that it's only leaves I like to snack on and not...well, you know!  Do you guys enjoy any tasty outdoor treats?

Love,
Payton

I don't eat leaves, but I try and munch on dirt clods until mom makes me drop it (I spit it out when she yells "leave it") It looks just like my rollover treats - it's not my fault.

Not only leaves but sticks, too! And they bring them in the house. In the spring I planted some flower bulbs and Liberty was kind enough to dig them up and bring those inside, too! I'm just glad she didn't eat them!!!

Being from Alabama leaves can be a rare treat in my area, but I have to say that when I find one it just makes my day. Tasty!

I love to eat leaves, too, Payton, but only the little tiny ones from the tree in front of my apartment building. My parents yell at me every time they see me eat one, but luckily I'm just too fast for them to stop me. Although now, my dad has started picking me up and carrying me up the front steps and all the way up into our apartment so I don't have any opportunity to munch on the fallen foliage. It stinks!

Enjoy those leaves while you can!

-Love, Sid.

Payton, I too love to eat leaves and anything else I can put in my mouth before my mom yells "drop it". Sometimes she doesn't see that I have a leaf or a stick in my mouth and I come inside with it. I wish she would just let me eat one completely. Fall foliage is just about peaking here and pretty soon there will be lots of leaves on the ground for me to chase (and eat).

Enjoy the weather before it gets wicked cold!!

Leaves--no, sticks--yes! And like the others, I love to sneak one inside, chew it up, then leave the remains on the Persian carpet!

Hi Payton
Aren't leaves so fun?
I have a bad habit. I know I am not supposed to eat leaves,, so to teast moms, I grab one and then run, knowing they cannot catch me.
I also like to eat the little white daisy flowers in the grass. I am not supposed to eat those either...
And then of course,, I like to look for cat fur balls,, Moms say ICK!

I'm not much for eating leaves, but I do love to jump in them! Apparently the cats like to eat them though because somebody left a used one on the bathroom rug yesterday.

Hi Payton! I love the autumn leaves, I still like to chase them and I do like to munching on a crunchy one or two! My gave leaves to nibble on are the oak leaves that are turning red, the silver birch leaves turning yellow and I also like to taste Mums mint in her small herb garden, its sooo sweet! Ooohhh...leaves sound interesting. I'll have to give them a try!

I'm more a fan of "Hoovering" up foodables that other people have dropped outside (popcorn, GUM, french fries, etc.). Pretty much all GroundSnacks make mom all yelly, so I don't get them too often. Bummer.

I like your "Deep Thoughts" pic! You look so important and sophisticated in that chair (with your nekkid belly!)

Love and kisses,

River Birch huh? Wonder if we have those here.. I am a purveyor of many fine outdoor treats. Some are even FORBIDDEN (poo a la mode!). My favorite of all is an acorn, which gets mom all riled up. Candy Corns! I'm a naughty pug, what can I say.
