A complaint and a request

Dear mom,

It has been almost an entire year since I gave you the most thoughtful Mother's Day present in history, and yet you have not made me one single item from it.  You love to cook and I love to eat, so what could be wrong with the Three Dog Bakery cookbook?  Yes, I know that I have gone grain-free and poultry-free since then, but isn't there anything you can make me?  Will a "jimmy" help motivate you?

Come on, mom!  Get with the Three Dog program!

Or perhaps my upcoming 9th birthday on the 21st?  If you need suggestions, take a look at pages 76-77.

For all you salivating pups out there, this is a banana cake with carob frosting!

I want that.  Got it, mom?!?  Make it happen!

Love,
Payton

PS.  I also have a special announcement to make!  The awesome people behind the Milwaukee Pugfest asked my mom to write an article about my experiences with PDE.  Not only was it sent out in their March newsletter in honor of my birthday this month, but they gave it a permanent spot on their website!!  To check it out, go to http://www.milwaukeepugfest.com/ and then click on the last "paw" on the left side of the page (the menu item between the two blue arrows in the picture below).

We are just so grateful for the opportunity to share my story of hope and reach even more pugs and their peeps!  Thanks Pugfest!!

Payton - have your mom bring the cookbook with you. My mom loves to bake, and she can whip up your cake while they're eatin' and drinkin'.

Just went to the website - that is SO awesome. I wish you lived closer to San Jose, where the Pug National Specialty is this year. They donate a lot of money to PDE research, and have a speaker give an update every year.

I am totally salivating. Momma doesn't make me any treats, ever. I have to rely on Auntie Laura to make me treats, which she happily does.

How exciting that your PDE story is going to be shared with the world. You and your peeps are PDE champions! If anypug is going to find a cure, it's going to be you.

We are so proud of you Payton. PDE story is super duper important to all pugs and pug lovers. We need to be educated and encouraged.

Well, as for the treat(s).... you still need to tell your mama that she can make treats even if it's not your birthday... treats should be made for every single occasions, b-day, anniversary, first day of spring, to honor winter, state of IL, etc etc... right? Our mama doesn't cook for $hit, so we are happy to get store bought ones, We know that taste better than whatever mama makes (sorry, mom!)

Love you mucho

Payton, I hope your mom gets to making you some 3-dog treats pronto! Rupert will be super envious - I never cook for him.

AND, your mom did such an awesome job on the PDE article! I feel like we gained such perspective on what it has been like for you and the devotion of your parents. Without a doubt this article will help so many people and pugs!

That cake looks delicious! We bet your mom can come up with some alternate flours like rice flour or soy flour to make your cake. Works for cookies, too! There's even potato flour!

Great job on the PDE article. It gets your story out to even more people. Betcha everyone at Pugfest is going to want your pawtograph!

I agree with Tiffy- if anyone kind find a cure it will be you and your peeps!

OMP, Payton, that cake looks AMAZING! You definitely deserve one. If your mom just so happens to feel like making an extra one and dropping it in the mail for me, I wouldn't mind. ;)

And congratulations on getting your PDE story on the Pugfest website! You have such a great, inspiring story and it's great to be able to share it with a wider audience.

Okay this is totally pawsome news abouts the website and you being featured. Now, about this cookbook issue, this is NOT pawsome news to hears that your Mom had NOT used it yets. Hmmm I thinks I will have to gives your Mom a call and discuss this matter in details. I am sure she will whip up something fabulous from the book once I have a word with her. The pictured treat here, looks delicious I don't blame you for requesting that one.

Aww this is such a great opportunity Payton! You are so lucky that you get to inform everyone about your health. :) Also, my female human has the same book and still has not touched it. I told her to stop reviewing what dogs can and cannot eat and to actually feed her dog all the things she writes about but that was not a good motivator to get her pugbutt moving. Let me know if this request works, and I'll try it too!
