Thanksgiving and Christmas all in one weekend

It was so hard to wait until Saturday to enjoy all the great smells and tastes of a big Thanksgiving feast, but it was worth it.

BEFORE

AFTER

Ok, I really didn't get to eat any of the turkey.  But I did get fresh green beans, and when it was time for my afternoon pills, my dad gave them to me in the mashed sweet potatoes!  YUMMY!  But I haven't even told you the best part...PIE!  Yep, I got my own slice of pumpkin pie, without the crust, but with WHIPPY!

Happy Thanksgiving from mom, dad, Gampy, me and Gammy!
It was torture having to wait for a group picture so I tried to dig in early as you can see above.

There's more, right?  Because I really want more pie.
Well, not only did we celebrate Thanksgiving this weekend, but on Sunday we started putting up the Christmas tree and other decorations.  Mom played her Christmas music non-stop.  I guess I don't mind it, but she better add some new songs to the collection to increase the variety.  Anyway, we will finish today so I can pose for pictures to put on my Christmas cards.  I'll tell you about those this weekend. Time to nap and recuperate from such a fun weekend!

Love,
Payton

Oh Payton! My head exploded when I thought you got to eat an entire turkey! I guess I fell for your trick. :)

Glad to hear you got some pumpkin pie with whipped cream, though. I got a special venison treat and some whipped cream, too. That stuff is DEEEE-LISH.

My 'rents were gonna set up our little fiber-optic Christmas tree yesterday but they got a little lazy. Over here we listen to the "Soul Christmas" album which, according to the way my parents behave, is impossible to sit still to. It has Christmas songs by James Brown, the Jackson 5, Otis Redding, etc. They dance around the house to it like maniacs. It's really quite embarrassing. They said they could burn a copy of it if your mom is interested (but I can't be held responsible for any embarrassing dance moves it produces).

Sid.

Hi Payton,

It looks like you ate the WHOLE turkey! Great pictures. It must be so difficult to decide which one to use for SYOP.

How cool that you got a nice piece of pie with whippy, Payton! We didn't have pie for Thanksgiving in Indiana - we had pumpkin pudding or something like that. I made pumpkin bread so at least I've got that here at home! I'm starting to put up my Christmas decorations today - space made for the decorations and area is cleaned, now I just about have them all pulled out of their storage. Glad you had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Payton, it looks like you hit the food jackpot. Fine job. Do you like green beans? I love them.
Mom thought the same thing when I said I was "lucky". She thought you were funny to say it as well.
Hope you are feeling well.

We were thinking WOW you hit the jackpot! We thought you ate that whole turkey! Too bad you didn't get any of it. We got to sample turkey and stuffing, too. We didn't get any pie but we did get some canned pumpkin with our dinner! Love, Zoe, Peyton, Webster and Liberty

Payton - what a LUCKY pug you are! Mama NEVER feeds me what she's eating. Says she's tired of hanging out in the emergency clinic, or something. Whatever. Happy that you had an awesome Thanksgiving!

Deear Pug Almighty that was a huge turkey! Cheers to you for at least getting one good lick in. Sneaky! Of course I see your Gampy was all too eager to give you pie. Boy do I love grandpawrents.

We will pray for you on your Chrismas pics. Mom swears we are possessed when she tries to take ours, tee hee.
