Holiday Rewind...Chicago bound part 2

On Friday I told you about my first surprise (getting to visit with Suki) on the way to Chicago.  It was already turning out to be a very eventful and exciting journey.  After that fun, I was tired enough to be good in the car and took naps off and on.  So before I knew it, we seemed to be nearing our destination.  Only it wasn't the bright lights of the city I was seeing out the window.  We were in the suburbs.  I couldn't believe it when mom said that it was time to meet another pug.  But not just any pug.  It was Sid!

The entire Pug Slope family was in Chicago visiting family for Christmas.  Mom immediately started fawning all over Sid and following him around to try getting a picture.  He was too quick for the most part, but the one above didn't turn out too bad.  After all, how bad can a photo be, no matter how fuzzy or blurred, when the subject is this guy?!?

We were at Sid's Aunt and Uncle's house.  Mom fell in love with their kitchen and hopes one day when they wish to sell they will contact her!  Anyway, Sid's relatives have a cute bichon/poodle mix named Sweetie who was shy.  But who could blame her with all the commotion of two crazy pugs...especially when dad started passing out the apple treats!

Sid is an expert "jimmy"-er.  You have no idea how low he can go!  It was impressive to meet a pug that is more food motivated than I am.

Will you just look at that sweet, "give me more" expression on Sid's perfect mug?  Soon the treats were gone and I was NOT happy!  So of course, I showed dad my displeasure.

I wanted to make a good impression on Sid and his peeps and how was I supposed to do that by running out of treats when Sid and I were still STARVING?!?  Well, since that was that, Sid and I did a little sniff, sniff since we really didn't take the time to introduce ourselves before the smell of apple put us in a trance.

Sid decided it was present time and snagged the stuffie we brought for him right off of the coffee table.  He was too quick for someone to stop him or for us to even get a picture of it still wrapped.

Look at that wisp of hair on the end of his super curly tail!
He's a pug after my own heart!  In fact, he was so aggressive with it that most of the pictures were very blurred.  Rather than fight it, here's the most blurred one of all so you can see his attack!

Given that Sid has as big of a passion for presents as I do, Sid's 'rents decided that I should wait to open my gift, so I will tell you all about it in a post later this week.  Well, seems as though Sid's present stunt worked because he ended up sitting at the table with his peeps!

Sid may be younger than me, but I think there are many things I could learn from him.  Before we headed out for the city, we made sure to take a group picture.

Unfortunately, we didn't have time for me to take Sid to all of the cool dog boutiques.  But we'll do that next time and maybe go out to eat too.  I know all the good places - even one inside (a mall) in case of rainy or cold weather.  And when our peeps are busy talking or playing games, Sid and I will exchange techniques for getting more treats and toys.  Hehee!  I can't wait for the next time we are able to meet up in Chicago!

After saying goodbye to Sid and his wonderful family, we finally made it to our hotel downtown and so the next couple of posts will be all about my "pug in the city" adventures!  Stay tuned!

Love,
Payton

PS.  A special thanks to Sid's 'rents for providing half of these pics!  Mom says our camera must have been on the fritz, but I just think she was too distracted by Sid's cuteness.

You are having such a great adventure. I wish you could come and visit us as well Payton. Sid looks like a wonderful fellow, he reminds me of Kai and how he gets up on the table much to our human's dismay.

Payton, that was so much fun! Let's do it again soon! Thank you for coming to visit me - sorry it was so brief. I'm glad we got to share some treats together. And thank you for the duck. I've found that in addition to it being perfect for wildly thrashing around with, it also makes a nice fluffy bolster for naptime! Looking forward to "pug in the city"!

-Love,
Sid.
